11th September Poynton OpenMic – Guest Poet is Helen Kay (Poultry Lovers Guide to Poetry)
I don’t have any hen poems, although I do have one called ‘Game Bird in Autumn’ which I shall read, and my latest, on this National Poetry Month theme of Freedom.
Hosted by local writer, Margaret Holbrook, the events take place on the second Monday of every month at the charming UBAgenes in Poynton – the food and drink is as fresh and classy as the decor, by the way. Apart from the guest writers, everyone is invited to read from their own work or favourite authors and poets, or sit back and be entertained by the others. 7.30 p.m – 9.30 pm.
This is promising to be a good event, with authors, poets, and musicians signed up already. WANTED: Visual Images – see below
If you’re interested in contributing, there’s a pre-event meeting next Thursday 8th
We’re inviting visual images e.g. drawings/paintings/sketches,photographs, cartoons etc. to put together for a slideshow at the event.
If you have an original piece of work you would like to be included, please bring along to the meeting on the 8th or email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 10th January. We’re hoping to get some photos suitable for a little Caption Competition
