Write and Release Romance – 13th Feb.

Tonight at this monthly gathering, I’ll be reading a romantic extract from one of my novels, ‘The Life Coach Less Travelled’ and a bit of beautiful Browning poetry born out of their love for each other. Be rude not too!

It’s fun, listening to diverse voices of work by published and unpublished writers, and seeing people get their public speaking feet wet. Wednesday, 14th November:

Looking forward to Special Guest this evening – poet Hilary Walker- who will introduce her new book, ‘Saving Lives’. Founder and host Randall Horton says “Hilary’s poems are deep and affecting.”

Following its official launch on Halloween, I’ll also be giving a taster of my new novel(la) ‘Stalkbook‘ and be taking some copies along.

Hosted  by Randall Horton, the aim is to enjoy and support poets and writers. Food For Thought – Poetry Trail

Include food for your mind and spirit when you go shopping in New Mills this week. The Poetry Trail  is on display around the town until 30th September. A pleasant Sunday walk perhaps, with lots more to see as the wonderful New Mills Festival draws to a close?

 

Following the very entertaining, successful Spoken Word Cabaret, (thanks to the organisers, great artists and gorgeous audience) poets who have poems displayed on the Poetry Trail (including Yours Truly) will gather to read their poems from the trail as well as some additional works.

Get Writing Taster Session- Lymefield

This Friday, 24th August 2018, 7-8.30 p.m.

National Poetry Day 2017 in Poynton

Poynton Library is celebrating National Poetry Day with its second annual Poetry Trail, brainchild of author Margaret Holbrook. A range of diverse and captivating poems are displayed in the library and around the lovely shops and eateries of Poynton. I have two poems in the library.  I shall read them and a new poem inspired by this year’s theme of Freedom at the open mic event (see below). Everyone welcome to this free event to recite or listen.

 

National Poetry Day 2017 Open Mic

Poynton Poetry Trail – 28th September to 2nd October

Poultry and Poetry in Poynton

11th September Poynton OpenMic –  Guest Poet is Helen Kay (Poultry Lovers Guide to Poetry)

I don’t have any hen poems, although I do have one called ‘Game Bird in Autumn’ which I shall read, and my latest, on this National Poetry Month theme of Freedom.

Hosted by local writer, Margaret Holbrook, the events take place on the second Monday of every month at the charming UBAgenes in Poynton – the food and drink is as fresh and classy as the decor, by the way. Apart from the guest writers, everyone is invited to read from their own work or favourite authors and poets, or sit back and be entertained by the others. 7.30 p.m – 9.30 pm.

Just enjoyed my second guest spot since these entertaining monthly events began in April this year. My first was as a poet; as it was Easter week I read my Christ’s Passion in Poetry and Perspective. Last week, as Guest Author I read from my latest novel, Blue Is The Object.
